Tea Time
The Townshend Acts were laws that put a tax on glass, lead, paints, paper, and tea. These laws were passed in 1767 and were named after the British Treasurer, Charles Townshend. The colonists were not very happy about these laws and the taxes they brought either. Due to the strong protests from the colonists, the British got rid of all the taxes but the one on tea.
