Battle of Yorktown
On the day 1781, general George Washington, commanding a force of 17,000 French people and Continental troops, begins the attack known as the battle of Yorktown against British General lord, which is Charles Cornwallis, and a continent of 9,000 British troops at Yorktown, Virginia. Cornwallis had prepared to escape by commanding British ships to come when needed. When he was in trouble, he expected them to come. But the French Navy blocked Yorktown Harbor, preventing them from getting through.Cornwallis then realized he was trapped, and he surrendered. This was a very important battle in their lives and the Revolutionary war (it was the last big battle for the War of Independence).
