Money, money, money
In 1764, Britain created a new act called the Stamp Act. The British needed money to continue fighting, so they taxed their own colonists. It was an act that created a stamp. If the stamp was put on a good or supply, then that good/supply would have tax. The colonists were not happy with this and saw this as an attempt for Britain to tax them without the approval of the colonial legislatures. Then there were worries about what else this would bring.
