Why all the fighting?

The American Revolutionary War occurred from 1775-1783. It was a struggle between the colonists and the lobsterbacks (British army). The colonists were mad because the British were taxing them to pay for the French and the Indian war (the French and Indian war was when England tried to drive France out of the Ohio River Valley). They believed that they were being unfairly taxed by the British government. A famous slogan came out of this belief: "NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION!"
